Flood Anticipation in West Jakarta Intensified

West Jakarta Administration continues to anticipate flood potential in rainy season that is predicted to hit Jakarta in the upcoming December.

Various ways have been prepared in West Jakarta. Among them are by controlling illegal buildings along Mokervart River, Sekretaris River, Ciliwung Rivulet in Pinangsia, Krukut Rivulet behind Beos Station and Apuran Kapuk River.

“ We keep controlling illegal buildings along the riverbank thus those four rivers can be normalized ,” said Mayor of West Jakarta, Anas Effendi, Thursday (11/12).

Several Connecting Channels in E. Jakarta Have Not Dredged

Effendi uttered that the city admininstration has provided the flats for citizens affected such normalization.

Especially controlling on Mokervart Riverbank, his party is still waiting for cleaning along supporting channels in West Jakarta.

"Cleaning is done to smoothen water flow from residential to big rivers," he expressed.

Even, he ordered headmen to monitor illegal buildings along riverbank.

"They have to monitor, don’t let them back and make the area more slum," he stressed.
